Public Participation & Community Engagement

Public Participation & Community Engagement

People expect to be informed about decisions that may impact them, and meeting that expectation starts with communication.

Beyond awareness, people need accessible information that allows them to meaningfully participate in the engagement process and understand how their input will inform decision-making.

Effective engagement relies on clear, accessible communication throughout the process and may involve Rightsholders, Indigenous communities, organizations, regulators and the public.

Done well, engagement can identify risks early, lead to better-informed decisions and build trust.

This could include:

  • Supporting Indigenous, community and public engagement activities

  • Planning communications across the project and engagement lifecycle

  • Drafting “What We Heard” reports and engagement summaries

  • Creating speaking notes and presentation materials

  • Developing plain-language materials

  • Supporting regulatory and assessment processes
